  • Hawkes Bay: Nicola Zaaiman

Role of local ambassadors

If you are thinking about becoming an NDF ambassador, here's what's involved:

  • Being the main point of contact for NDF in a region
  • Organising an annual barcamp for like-minded digital folk to get together and share their experiences, update each other on projects, or seek assistance from each other
  • You have the option of adding a half-day workshop to your barcamp event to help build the specific knowledge or skills that best fit the needs of your area, and NDF pays the expenses for a trainer or facilitator to attend
  • Identifying ongoing opportunities for local networking, such as lunchtime meetups to share knowledge or discuss videos from the previous year's conference

BENEFITS OF BEING AN NDF AMBASSADOR

In return for helping to build the NDF network throughout New Zealand, our ambassadors receive:

  • A free ticket to the annual NDF conference in Wellington
  • Support from the NDF Board to run barcamps, workshops, and events. Including travel costs to attend training and planning days in Wellington
  • An ambassador pack to help with local activities; including videos of the previous year's conference
  • A great professional development experience with the chance to build connections with NDF members throughout New Zealand
