GLAM IT - a meet up for those involved in digital innovation within GLAM and Tech sectors. This is a chance to connect with people doing innovative projects within galleries, libraries, archives and museums and learn where our sector is heading as we face the digital future.

10.00 - Morning tea provided for those who wish to come a bit earlier to meet and greet

11.00 - Palmerston North Library’s new digital heritage repository:Manawatū Heritage. Leith Haarhoff, Digital Strategist, with Heather Glasgow, Heritage Assistant – Photo Collection, Libraries and Community Services, Palmerston North.
11.30 - Wikipedia workshop. Mike Dickison, Curator of Natural History, Whanganui Regional Museum.
12.00 – Lunch – a light finger food lunch is provided (there will be a limited selection of gluten free and vegetarian options provided)
12.45 - Discussion on strategies for maintaining digital files in useable formats i.e. digital artworks and heritage files. Lead by Jennifer Taylor Moore, Curator of Collections, Sarjeant Gallery.
1.15 - Discussion about social media strategies for increasing visitation and audience participation. Lead by Jessica Kidd, Assistant Curator, Sarjeant Gallery
1.45 - Open discussion / breakouts.
