Paul Rowe: Bots I have met

Tuesday, November 19 • 3:46pm - 3:53pm @ Soundings Theatre.

Bots are automated pieces of software that carry out a set of operations with some degree of independence, often with behaviour mimicking a person. They’re becoming increasingly sophisticated and have been adopted for a range of purposes within the museum sector. Example uses include sharing random collection items, being involved in online conversations to answer visitors questions, and re-using content in novel ways. This talk looks at museum examples around the world. What is required for you or others to develop bots based on your content? What can be achieved with a bot? What is the potential of the next generation of bots?
