The Luke Rowell Digital Music Collection is a recent archive project undertaken by the Alexander Turnbull Library. As well as the significance of preserving masters of important music releases and the need to document the processes that popular music goes through before the final product is released.

The Luke Rowell project is open access, and readily available for musicians, researchers, and anyone interested in the collection. The team also discusses the challenges of preserving analog material that has the potential to become obsolete in the future, and the importance of working with New Zealand record label Flying Nun Records to preserve their archive.
