GETTING STARTED WITH DIGITAL PRESERVATION

Digital Preservation can seem like an overwhelming practice to get started with: an abundance of technical terms and formats, software and storage choices, and processes to introduce, adapt, and maintain.

To get a foot in the digital preservation door, join our upcoming webinar with Tim Barnett from Auckland Council Libraries. You’ll learn how to move from theory to practice, one step at a time.

Tim will cover the core topics you need to consider to get started, including setting goals and working with your IT department, figuring out your current state, and assessing storage and software options.

If you’re from a smaller organisation or working with a limited budget, Tim will also look at the approaches you can use to cover the basics. The webinar will also be a good check-in for anyone who is early on in their digital preservation journey.*

This session is the first in a series of co-created sessions with NDF Kauri Member Auckland Council Libraries - more announcements coming up soon!

*If you’re looking for a more technical introduction to Digital Preservation, check out our previous Digital Preservation 101 webinar.
