RESEARCH: DIGITAL CAPABILITY IN THE AOTEAROA NEW ZEALAND GLAM SECTOR

In 2021 NDF conducted a research project on digital capability in the Aotearoa New Zealand GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums) sector. The research was funded by Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture & Heritage Ta Tahua Whakakaha | Cultural Sector Capability scheme. The objectives were to better understand the challenges and needs of people in digital roles.

NDF also took the opportunity to consult with the sector about how might NDF support organisations and individuals to build capability generally and across several relevant specialist areas—collections management, experience and engagement, strategy and leadership. The feedback gave us valuable insights that have informed our work program from this point forward. Here we present the findings from this research.
